Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."  - Matthew 28:18-20

Children's Ministries

"Suffer the little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me..."

  • Children's Churches
Each Sunday Morning four children's churches meet which have been created to meet the needs of various developmental stages of children. Three year old, four and five year old, first through third grade and fourth through sixth grade.
  • Bus Ministry
Our bus ministry services the entire Moore community. Periodic events are scheduled for Sunday afternoons to allow the children to get to know our bus captains and other riders.
  • SuperStars Camp & Club
Our summer camp for first through sixth grades is held in Binger, OK, each year in late July or early August. The program is geared to allow children the opportunities to grow in all levels of development through physical activities, morning class times, and evening worship services. Also, throughout the month of June we plan weekly outings for this age group to participate.
  • Graded Children's Choirs
Southgate has two separate children's choirs that meet at 5:00pm on Sundays.  One choir is designed for three to five year old children, and the other is geared toward first through sixth graders.
  • Fall Fun Festival & Spring Easter Carnival
The Fall Fun Festival is an annual Halloween alternative and outreach event for our community.  Children can come in costume, and receive candy and prizes as they play a barrage of carnival games in a safe atmosphere.  The Spring Easter Carnival is designed as an annual Easter Egg Hunt, when weather permits.  But rain or shine, this exciting event will take place.
  • AWANA
This program meets each Wednesday night and is designed for pre-school 3 through sixth grade in memorization and character building, throughout the school year.

Student Ministries

"Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth..."

  • Teen Bible Conferences
Our youth attend at least two BMA teen conferences during each year.
    • SOAR (Sold Out And Radical) is our national meeting held in July.  This conference meets in various major cities throughout the country and offers students an opportunity to worship and praise God in a setting conducive to their culture.
    • Oklahoma Outbreak is our state teen Bible conference. Set on a smaller scale, we inevitably see our teens worship on a more personal level and are presented with more opportunities for our group to grow closer together. This meeting is held between Christmas and the new year.
  • Summer Student Camp
The BMA of Oklahoma State Youth Camp is held in July at Camp Cedar Hills in Binger, OK. Youth communicators and praise leaders are brought in each year to share Christ in a format designed for teens.
  • Delta Force
Wednesday night is our time to reach out to the youth of Moore. It is our opportunity to enjoy each other's fellowship, but more importantly, to introduce teens to a Savior who wants to make a practical difference in their lives.
  • Weekly Bible Studies
... are scheduled each Sunday morning and every Monday evening. Both are designed to draw our students to a better understanding of what God has designed for their lives.
  • Additional events...
Throughout the year we schedule lock-ins, SNAC's (Sunday Night After Church), youth visitation, work days, and other events to help us grow closer together and closer to what God wants us to be. We also participate in other national youth conferences as time allows and opportunities arise.

Adult Ministries

"Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love..."

  • Primetimers
This may be one of the most active adult groups in our church. Primetimers, a class for age 50 and up, meets on Sunday mornings for Bible study, but they also plan several events to fellowship together, including monthly breakfasts and dinners, and annual trips and tours.
  • Women's Missionary Auxiliary
... is directed toward missions, and includes all women of the church. They are active in ministries such as the meals ministry, citywide craft show, event decorations, and care baskets. They meet on the second Monday of each month.
  • Specials Sunday Studies
This is a Sunday morning class designed for adults with mental disabilities. Shuttle transportation is available in the Moore area.
  • Sunday Morning Bible Studies
    • Women of Promise
    • Faith Ladies
    • Men's Class
    • Singles & College Age Studies
  • Additional Weekly Bible Studies
    • Thursday Night Open Topic Discussions
    • Wednesday Night Single's Studies
  • Young & Median Adults
There are several age graded groups in our congregation who meet on Sunday mornings for Bible study and at other times each month for times of fellowship.

Music Ministries

"Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands."

Southgate offers several areas for participation in music ministries.

  • Adult Choir
Our adult choir meets each Wednesday evening at 7:00. During practice times we are preparing music to enhance our worship services, and rehearse larger, seasonal programs (Christmas, Easter, etc.) for use throughout the year.
  • Children's Choirs
We currently have two children's choirs, one for first through sixth grade students and one for pre-school and kindergarten children. Both practice each Sunday evening at 5:00. Our goal for these choirs is to educate them in the basic areas of rhythm and music, and allow them to experience performing in music ministry. The pre-school group is usually working on simple, children's music, while the older choir works on more complete children's musicals.
  • Instrumental Ensemble
Our instrumental ensemble adds a rich air to our Sunday morning and evening services. Anyone who has a background with a musical instrument is invited to participate. This group rehearses each Wednesday evening at 8:30 following the Wednesday evening class times.
  • Praise Night
Once a quarter we set aside a night of praise from the pews, as members of our talented membership present specials in songs, skits and readings to the praise of our Lord.

Outreach Opportunities

"For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name..."

  • Lifetouch
Every Tuesday, members of our church meet to write letters, send cards, make phone calls, or go out to visit those who have honored our church by visiting with us.
  • Bus Ministries
Our bus ministry has been reaching Moore for more than 20 years. If you are looking for an opportunity to reach children for the cause of Christ, this may be the most productive.
  • Meal Ministry
One of our many ladies ministries is to assist families during crisis times (death of a loved one, extended hospital stays, etc.) by providing meals to the families. This ministry is sponsored by our Women's Missionary Auxiliary.
  • Griefshare
This support group meets Tuesday evenings with the desire to help those who have lost loved ones through the grieving process. It is a thirteen week video series, but the support does not end there.
  • Sunday Morning Bible Study Groups
Small groups meet each Sunday at 9:30am. They also meet and fellowship at other times outside of class. This may be the most productive means of finding your place at Southgate and to get to know its friendly members.
